Bring your Oakville home to life after dark.
Oakville is one of South County’s largest and most established communities. Located in the 63129 ZIP code area, about 25 minutes south of downtown St. Louis via Interstate 55, Oakville sits between the Mississippi River to the east and the Meramec River to the west. Although Oakville never formally incorporated as a city, it’s been a recognizable South County community since the late 1800s — when Justice of the Peace Johannes Schulte named the area after the towering oak trees that still characterize many neighborhoods today.Â
Most Oakville homes were built from the 1970s onward, and the housing stock reflects that era — ranch houses, Colonial Revivals, and contemporary homes with two-car garages dominate the residential streets. Many properties have generous lot sizes, established trees, and well-developed landscaping that’s been settling for decades. The Mehlville School District serves the community (Oakville High School and Mehlville High School), and the district is part of what attracts families to the area.Â
Oakville also has some of the best park access in South County. Cliff Cave County Park covers 525 acres and includes the second-longest cave in St. Louis County, multiple trails, and Mississippi River fishing. Bee Tree County Park is 192 acres along the Mississippi River and includes the historic Nims Mansion — a 1929 Tudor Revival estate listed on the National Register of Historic Places. That parkland and natural-corridor character influences how we design lighting here.Â
Whether you’re in Southbridge, near Cliff Cave Park, along Telegraph Road, or in any of Oakville’s established residential subdivisions, we’d love to walk your property and design something custom.
Here’s what we design and install across the area:
Oakville's deeper setbacks and full driveways make pathway lighting a substantial design element rather than a small add-on.
Consistent two-story residential architecture rewards facade accent designs that read clearly from the street.
Family-oriented neighborhoods drive one of the heaviest annual holiday installation cycles in South County.
Oakville is a stable, family-oriented suburban market with relatively consistent home values and project scopes throughout the area. River bluff properties on the east side carry unique considerations — slope, drainage, and view-corridor preservation often factor into lighting design. Most other neighborhoods follow standard suburban design conventions.
Ranch homes and Colonial Revivals dominate Oakville's residential streets. These houses ask for different lighting approaches than the Tudors and Victorians of inner-ring suburbs. Ranches benefit from horizontal accent lighting along eaves, low-profile pathway fixtures, and uplighting on flanking trees. Colonial Revivals work beautifully with symmetrical placements and warm color temperatures (2700K-3000K).
Oakville is genuinely family-oriented — strong schools, generous parks, and tight-knit residential streets where neighbors know each other. Our designs respect that community character — welcoming, well-placed, and warm without being ostentatious.
Many Oakville homes sit near Cliff Cave Park, Bee Tree Park, or the Meramec/Mississippi River corridors. We design with that natural backdrop in mind — fixtures aimed inward, warm color temperatures, and lighting effects that integrate with the surrounding character rather than imposing on it.
Oakville is a sensible market and our approach matches it. Phasing spreads costs across multiple years, with each phase building on the last. We start with the highest-impact zones and add complexity over time as budget allows.

The work was fairly priced and the materials and workmanship were excellent. We actually rehired them again for even more lighting features.Posted on Google Bradley FisherTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I recently hired Landscape Lighting Guys to help with my home lighting system, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. I first met Matt while he was preparing a proposal for a large lighting project in our subdivision’s common areas. He took the time to meet with us multiple times, answer questions, and walk through the details of the project. During those meetings, I also had him take a look at my home’s landscape lighting system. Over the years, I had several different companies work on my lighting, and after some recent landscaping work, some wires were cut and pulled out, and fixtures were pulled out of their proper location. My system needed to be reset and repaired. Matt provided a beyond fair and detailed proposal, and his crew got right to work. What impressed me most was that they weren’t interested in taking shortcuts. Tyler and George explained that they could simply reconnect some of the old wiring, but they weren’t comfortable doing that because they couldn’t guarantee the long-term results. Instead, they took the time to trace the system, replace wiring where needed, and correct several issues left behind from previous installations. It was obvious they cared about doing the job correctly rather than just getting it done. The end result is actually better than what I had before. A few simple adjustments to fixture placement and aiming made a huge difference in how the house and landscaping are illuminated at night. The attention to detail was outstanding. Tyler and George were also incredibly professional and friendly throughout the entire process. They cleaned up after themselves, polished the fixtures, answered questions, and treated my property like it was their own. That level of service is hard to find these days. I’m also excited that Matt offers maintenance and service plans. One of the biggest challenges with landscape lighting is finding someone who understands your system and can maintain it properly over time. It’s reassuring to know I now have a trusted company that can keep everything looking great for years to come. If you’re looking for a company that values quality, professionalism, and long-term customer relationships, I highly recommend Matt, Tyler, George, and the entire team at Landscape Lighting Guys.Posted on Google Jeff BerzonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We met Matt many years ago when his business was young. His professionalism and dedications were matched by his crew. Years later we used his Company again, after we moved. We were just as impressed. Their suggestions, especially the Bistro Lights over the patio, were spot on. Another great job, And another round of compliments from our neighbors!Posted on Google Sue AckleyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I did quite a bit of talking with several lighting companies in the beginning. Some didn’t show up for an appointment, one didn’t call back when I asked to make some changes to the bid, so I looked for someone who was honest, had integrity, and listened to what I wanted, but had great ideas as well. The Lighten guys fit the bill perfectly. My house lighten was done in the winter, but I knew I would like to add to it as soon as my garden was in full bloom. Matt came out today and again I was so pleased with his ideas! It’s going to be perfect! Thanks bunches Matt! They performed high quality work that they stand behind. I highly recommend them!Posted on Google Julie BuckTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Matt and his team originally designed and installed our landscape lights in 2021. We were thrilled with his expertise on placement of the lights. The end result turned out great. We still get compliments on our lighting. My favorite part is the yearly check and fix of any issues. His team cleans, checks and repairs lights, wires or any other issue each year. Hassle free for us. Highly recommend this company.Posted on Google Ben LloydTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Huge shout out for the entire team at LLG. I can't recommend them enough. The estimating was simple and clear, pricing was fair and competitive.. and I was blown away with the finished product! Whenever my wife comes home with the kids after baseball practice, she always makes the comment how safe she feels and how lit up our house looks! LLG completely changed the dynamic of my home. THANK YOU!!Posted on Google David KannapelTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Matt and the team couldn't have been better to work with. They were able to get us quoted, installed, and supported very quickly and professionally. In addition to the hardware and lights looking great, the professionalism has been above and beyond. Would highly recommend!Posted on Google Timothy RohlmanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our lights were installed at least 10 years ago and worked fine except we had some trees removed and some were damaged. Those 3 were replaced and all the others (32) were serviced, cleaned and new bulbs. Excellent work thank you.Posted on Google Coco BloomfieldTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Prompt, excellent service! So nice to deal with.
