Bring your Olivette home to life after dark.
Olivette is one of those St. Louis County cities that quietly has more character and quality than people give it credit for. Tucked between Creve Coeur to the west and Ladue to the east, Olivette occupies a central mid-county position with quick access to both the West County suburbs and the inner-ring neighborhoods around Forest Park and downtown St. Louis. It’s a comfortable, established, family-friendly community with strong housing values and an unusually beautiful residential streetscape.
What makes Olivette a great landscape-lighting market is the combination of established neighborhoods and substantial individual lot sizes. Many Olivette homes sit on generous lots with mature trees, well-developed gardens, and the kind of settled landscaping that takes decades to develop. That gives us a lot to work with — established oaks and maples for moonlighting, traditional brick and stone façades for architectural lighting, and garden beds that have been carefully cultivated over years.
Olivette is part of the Creve Coeur-Olivette Chamber of Commerce, which speaks to how closely the two cities are connected economically and socially. Many Olivette residents work in nearby Creve Coeur, Clayton, or downtown — the central position of the city is part of its appeal. From a landscape-lighting perspective, that central location also means we can be at an Olivette property in about 20 minutes from our Sunset Hills offices.
Whether you’re in an established Olivette neighborhood, near Olivette Park, off Olive Boulevard, or anywhere across the city’s residential streets, we’d love to walk your property and design something custom.
Here’s what we design and install across the area:
Olivette's mature tree canopy combined with mid-century and updated home styles creates exceptional tree-uplighting opportunities that define the property's nighttime presence.
Established gardens and mature plantings make pathway lighting a natural integration rather than an addition.
Flatter mid-century rooflines accept permanent roofline systems with particularly clean architectural integration.
Olivette is a mid-county established market with significant ongoing renovation activity — many original mid-century homes have been substantially updated, and lighting projects often coincide with broader landscape or exterior renovations. The mature tree canopy is the single most distinctive design factor in this market — uplighting work here delivers more visual impact per fixture than almost anywhere else in the metro.
Olivette sits in the heart of mid-county — established, settled, characterized by mature housing stock and decades of cultivated landscaping. Our designs respect that character. We use warm color temperatures, traditional fixture choices, and lighting placements that complement the established feel of the city's neighborhoods.
Many Olivette homes sit on larger-than-average mid-county lots, with mature trees and well-developed gardens. That gives us real design freedom — uplighting on established oaks and maples, accent lighting on cultivated garden features, and pathway lighting that has room to extend across the full property.
Olivette shares a design sensibility with neighboring Creve Coeur — affluent, established, traditional, naturalistic. We use the same restrained design approach for both cities: warm tones, hidden fixtures, and lighting effects that feel discovered rather than announced.
Olivette is a tight-knit family community. Our designs look beautiful from your own front yard but don't intrude on neighbors. Careful aiming, glare control, and warm color temperatures keep the lighting an asset to the block rather than a complaint.
Why Olivette homeowners hire us for their established mid-county homes
Many Olivette homes sit on larger-than-average mid-county lots with mature trees and well-developed gardens. That gives us real design freedom — uplighting on established oaks and maples, accent lighting on cultivated garden features, pathway runs that extend across the full property.
Olivette sits between Creve Coeur and Ladue, sharing a design sensibility with both — affluent, established, traditional, naturalistic. Our designs match: warm tones, hidden fixtures, lighting effects that feel discovered rather than announced.
Most Olivette homes are traditional architecture — brick fronts, stone details, symmetrical façades. We have deep experience designing lighting that flatters brick and stone with warm color temperatures and well-placed accent fixtures.
Olivette is a tight-knit family community. Careful aiming, glare control, and warm color temperatures keep your lighting an asset to the block rather than a complaint. Good for your own front porch and your neighbor's.
For larger Olivette properties, we map the full grounds before designing any single zone — home façade, primary landscape, garden features, pathways, outdoor living areas all coordinated as one coherent lighting design.

The work was fairly priced and the materials and workmanship were excellent. We actually rehired them again for even more lighting features.Posted on Google Bradley FisherTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I recently hired Landscape Lighting Guys to help with my home lighting system, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. I first met Matt while he was preparing a proposal for a large lighting project in our subdivision’s common areas. He took the time to meet with us multiple times, answer questions, and walk through the details of the project. During those meetings, I also had him take a look at my home’s landscape lighting system. Over the years, I had several different companies work on my lighting, and after some recent landscaping work, some wires were cut and pulled out, and fixtures were pulled out of their proper location. My system needed to be reset and repaired. Matt provided a beyond fair and detailed proposal, and his crew got right to work. What impressed me most was that they weren’t interested in taking shortcuts. Tyler and George explained that they could simply reconnect some of the old wiring, but they weren’t comfortable doing that because they couldn’t guarantee the long-term results. Instead, they took the time to trace the system, replace wiring where needed, and correct several issues left behind from previous installations. It was obvious they cared about doing the job correctly rather than just getting it done. The end result is actually better than what I had before. A few simple adjustments to fixture placement and aiming made a huge difference in how the house and landscaping are illuminated at night. The attention to detail was outstanding. Tyler and George were also incredibly professional and friendly throughout the entire process. They cleaned up after themselves, polished the fixtures, answered questions, and treated my property like it was their own. That level of service is hard to find these days. I’m also excited that Matt offers maintenance and service plans. One of the biggest challenges with landscape lighting is finding someone who understands your system and can maintain it properly over time. It’s reassuring to know I now have a trusted company that can keep everything looking great for years to come. If you’re looking for a company that values quality, professionalism, and long-term customer relationships, I highly recommend Matt, Tyler, George, and the entire team at Landscape Lighting Guys.Posted on Google Jeff BerzonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We met Matt many years ago when his business was young. His professionalism and dedications were matched by his crew. Years later we used his Company again, after we moved. We were just as impressed. Their suggestions, especially the Bistro Lights over the patio, were spot on. Another great job, And another round of compliments from our neighbors!Posted on Google Sue AckleyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I did quite a bit of talking with several lighting companies in the beginning. Some didn’t show up for an appointment, one didn’t call back when I asked to make some changes to the bid, so I looked for someone who was honest, had integrity, and listened to what I wanted, but had great ideas as well. The Lighten guys fit the bill perfectly. My house lighten was done in the winter, but I knew I would like to add to it as soon as my garden was in full bloom. Matt came out today and again I was so pleased with his ideas! It’s going to be perfect! Thanks bunches Matt! They performed high quality work that they stand behind. I highly recommend them!Posted on Google Julie BuckTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Matt and his team originally designed and installed our landscape lights in 2021. We were thrilled with his expertise on placement of the lights. The end result turned out great. We still get compliments on our lighting. My favorite part is the yearly check and fix of any issues. His team cleans, checks and repairs lights, wires or any other issue each year. Hassle free for us. Highly recommend this company.Posted on Google Ben LloydTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Huge shout out for the entire team at LLG. I can't recommend them enough. The estimating was simple and clear, pricing was fair and competitive.. and I was blown away with the finished product! Whenever my wife comes home with the kids after baseball practice, she always makes the comment how safe she feels and how lit up our house looks! LLG completely changed the dynamic of my home. THANK YOU!!Posted on Google David KannapelTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Matt and the team couldn't have been better to work with. They were able to get us quoted, installed, and supported very quickly and professionally. In addition to the hardware and lights looking great, the professionalism has been above and beyond. Would highly recommend!Posted on Google Timothy RohlmanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our lights were installed at least 10 years ago and worked fine except we had some trees removed and some were damaged. Those 3 were replaced and all the others (32) were serviced, cleaned and new bulbs. Excellent work thank you.Posted on Google Coco BloomfieldTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Prompt, excellent service! So nice to deal with.
