I get asked a lot about how we’ve grown so fast. People want the quick answer, the secret sauce. But honestly, it comes down to one thing: the people.

We’ve hired nine people now, six of them in just the last six months, and I want to take a minute to actually name them. Because every person on this team brings something specific to the table, and they deserve to be recognized for it.

Tyler’s been with us since 2019. He took a short break at one point, but he came back, and we were thrilled to have him. He knows the jobs, he knows the clients, and the clients absolutely love him. He’s the guy who’ll spend extra time walking someone through a project, and he’s always willing to handle nighttime adjustments. That’s how he shows up for this company.

Hayley’s been with us since 2020, working seasonally until last July when she reached out and said her corporate job wasn’t cutting it anymore. She wanted to come work with us full-time. I didn’t hesitate. She already knew our systems and processes, and the timing couldn’t have been better, right as we were gearing up for holiday lighting season. We had a record year, and a huge part of that was Hayley keeping the season running smoothly and keeping our clients in the loop every step of the way.

Then there’s George. Our sons are a month apart, and we met while they were doing CrossFit-style workouts at Kid Strong Camp together. I offered him a job, he turned it down the first time, but I knew I needed him on this team. So, we sat down at his kitchen table with his family and figured out how to make it work. He joined last October and has become our operations leader. He’s the guy every technician goes to for direction, a natural leader through and through, and this is only his first full season with us.

Jaikob joined the first week of March, and within days he was on a plane to Utah for permanent lighting training with George and Haley. That trip was as much about team bonding as it was about learning a new service, and it set the tone for how this crew works together. Jaikob can figure anything out with his hands. He’s sharp, dependable, and genuinely loves coming to work, which honestly makes everyone around him better.

On April 23rd, we brought on two guys the same day. Brian came on as our marketing success manager, and I’m not exaggerating when I say he’s one of the biggest reasons we keep growing. He’s rebranded both of our companies, built two new websites, manages our social media (click here to follow us on Facebook), handles renderings, and probably ten other things I’m forgetting right now.

My brother-in-law Eric joined that same day. He’d spent over ten years in flooring and reached out about working our holiday season before heading off to do something else entirely. I told him to just come work with us year-round instead and see how it felt. He’s still here, and even on the days the work is tough, he’s enjoying the people he gets to do it with.

Jeremy came over from a lawn treatment company where he’d worked alongside George and Jaikob. He’s clean-cut, sharp, and wants to understand every detail of what he’s doing and why. That kind of curiosity is exactly what helps a company grow the right way.

And most recently, we hired two more people on the same day: Josh, our new shop manager, who’s going to bring better systems and efficiency to our back end ahead of holiday season, and Kelsey, our new sales lead. Kelsey’s got a design background and a creative mind, and that matters a lot to us. At Landscape Lighting Guys, we don’t just sell fixtures. We sell design and experience. Kelsey is going to be at the front of that, guiding clients from that first phone call all the way through installation and beyond.

I love that we’ve built a team with different perspectives and different strengths. I want every person here to feel like their voice matters, because that’s what pushes this company forward.

We’re not done growing either. We’re planning to add three to five more people full-time as we head into holiday lighting season, and we’ll carry that momentum right into spring 2027. If the last six months are any indication, the best is still ahead of us.
