Bring your Crestwood home to life after dark.
Crestwood is one of those St. Louis suburbs that quietly has more character than people give it credit for. The city sits just southwest of Webster Groves and Kirkwood — a few minutes from our offices in Sunset Hills — and most of its housing stock dates back to the 1960s suburban boom. That makes Crestwood one of the best mid-century modern markets in the region, and one of our favorite places to do landscape lighting.
Crestwood was incorporated as a village in 1947 and as a city in 1949. The neighborhoods that grew up
afterward — including stately subdivisions like Glenwood Place and Grant’s Farm Trails — represent the kind
of postwar suburban planning that still defines the city today. Comfortable single-family homes, manicured
lawns, established streets, and a strong family-oriented community. There’s a quiet quality to Crestwood
neighborhoods that lighting can either enhance or overwhelm — we design specifically for the former.
What makes Crestwood interesting for landscape lighting is the prevalence of ranch homes and split-levels with
long, horizontal lines. These houses don’t have steep gables or vertical Tudor turrets to anchor a lighting design
— they have low rooflines, wide stretches of brick or siding, and integrated landscapes. We design for that,
using horizontal accent lighting along the eaves, well-placed uplights on flanking trees, and pathway lights that
complement the home’s scale.
Whether you’re in Glenwood Place, Grant’s Farm Trails, Pebble Creek, or any of Crestwood’s established
streets, we’d love to help you bring out the best of your home after sunset.
Here’s what we design and install across the area:
Crestwood's low-pitched ranch rooflines are practically ideal for permanent roofline systems — clean, hidden tracks with maximum visual impact.
Wide front lawns with deeper setbacks make pathway lighting a defining curb-appeal element.
Established family neighborhoods drive consistent annual holiday demand.
Crestwood is a heavily ranch-dominated market, with long horizontal home profiles that respond differently to lighting than two-story builds. Permanent roofline lighting has unusual aesthetic value here because the low rooflines accept tracks cleanly and the resulting wash reads as architectural rather than seasonal. Projects often start modest and expand over multiple seasons.
Lighting a ranch is a different game than lighting a vertical home. The horizontal lines of a Crestwood ranch ask for horizontal lighting choices — lower-profile path lights, accent lighting along the eaves rather than the gables, and uplighting that focuses on landscape features rather than steep architectural detail. We've designed dozens of ranches and know what works.
Crestwood is a tight-knit family neighborhood. We design lighting that looks beautiful from your own front door and your own backyard — but doesn't blast neighbors with glare or feel out of place on your street. Subtle, warm, and well-placed.
Crestwood is one of the most accessible markets in the region for landscape lighting, and many of our clients here choose to phase projects rather than install everything in one go. We can start with the façade, add pathway lighting next year, then bistro lights for the patio the year after — building toward a complete design that fits your budget.
Most Crestwood homes have decades of established landscaping — mature trees, settled garden beds, hedges. We design around that landscape rather than asking you to rebuild it. Often the most dramatic effects come from highlighting what's already there.
Why Crestwood homeowners trust us with their mid-century homes and established subdivisions
Lighting a ranch is a different game than lighting a Tudor. The long horizontal lines, low rooflines, and integrated landscapes of a Crestwood ranch need horizontal accent lighting along eaves, well-placed uplights on flanking trees, and pathway lighting that matches the home's scale. We've designed dozens.
Crestwood is a sensible market. Many of our clients start with the home façade in year one, add pathway and accent lighting in year two, then bistro patio lighting in year three. Each phase stands alone but builds toward a complete design.
Glenwood Place, Grant's Farm Trails, Pebble Creek — each subdivision has its own character. We adapt designs to the specific block, fixture scale, and neighborhood aesthetic.
Crestwood is a tight-knit family community. Our designs look beautiful from your front yard without blasting neighbors with glare. Subtle, warm, and well-placed — the goal is for your house to look great without standing out from the block.
Most Crestwood yards have decades of mature trees and settled garden beds. We design around what's already there rather than asking you to remove anything. Often the most dramatic effects come from highlighting features you've cultivated for years.

The work was fairly priced and the materials and workmanship were excellent. We actually rehired them again for even more lighting features.Posted on Google Bradley FisherTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I recently hired Landscape Lighting Guys to help with my home lighting system, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. I first met Matt while he was preparing a proposal for a large lighting project in our subdivision’s common areas. He took the time to meet with us multiple times, answer questions, and walk through the details of the project. During those meetings, I also had him take a look at my home’s landscape lighting system. Over the years, I had several different companies work on my lighting, and after some recent landscaping work, some wires were cut and pulled out, and fixtures were pulled out of their proper location. My system needed to be reset and repaired. Matt provided a beyond fair and detailed proposal, and his crew got right to work. What impressed me most was that they weren’t interested in taking shortcuts. Tyler and George explained that they could simply reconnect some of the old wiring, but they weren’t comfortable doing that because they couldn’t guarantee the long-term results. Instead, they took the time to trace the system, replace wiring where needed, and correct several issues left behind from previous installations. It was obvious they cared about doing the job correctly rather than just getting it done. The end result is actually better than what I had before. A few simple adjustments to fixture placement and aiming made a huge difference in how the house and landscaping are illuminated at night. The attention to detail was outstanding. Tyler and George were also incredibly professional and friendly throughout the entire process. They cleaned up after themselves, polished the fixtures, answered questions, and treated my property like it was their own. That level of service is hard to find these days. I’m also excited that Matt offers maintenance and service plans. One of the biggest challenges with landscape lighting is finding someone who understands your system and can maintain it properly over time. It’s reassuring to know I now have a trusted company that can keep everything looking great for years to come. If you’re looking for a company that values quality, professionalism, and long-term customer relationships, I highly recommend Matt, Tyler, George, and the entire team at Landscape Lighting Guys.Posted on Google Jeff BerzonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We met Matt many years ago when his business was young. His professionalism and dedications were matched by his crew. Years later we used his Company again, after we moved. We were just as impressed. Their suggestions, especially the Bistro Lights over the patio, were spot on. Another great job, And another round of compliments from our neighbors!Posted on Google Sue AckleyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I did quite a bit of talking with several lighting companies in the beginning. Some didn’t show up for an appointment, one didn’t call back when I asked to make some changes to the bid, so I looked for someone who was honest, had integrity, and listened to what I wanted, but had great ideas as well. The Lighten guys fit the bill perfectly. My house lighten was done in the winter, but I knew I would like to add to it as soon as my garden was in full bloom. Matt came out today and again I was so pleased with his ideas! It’s going to be perfect! Thanks bunches Matt! They performed high quality work that they stand behind. I highly recommend them!Posted on Google Julie BuckTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Matt and his team originally designed and installed our landscape lights in 2021. We were thrilled with his expertise on placement of the lights. The end result turned out great. We still get compliments on our lighting. My favorite part is the yearly check and fix of any issues. His team cleans, checks and repairs lights, wires or any other issue each year. Hassle free for us. Highly recommend this company.Posted on Google Ben LloydTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Huge shout out for the entire team at LLG. I can't recommend them enough. The estimating was simple and clear, pricing was fair and competitive.. and I was blown away with the finished product! Whenever my wife comes home with the kids after baseball practice, she always makes the comment how safe she feels and how lit up our house looks! LLG completely changed the dynamic of my home. THANK YOU!!Posted on Google David KannapelTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Matt and the team couldn't have been better to work with. They were able to get us quoted, installed, and supported very quickly and professionally. In addition to the hardware and lights looking great, the professionalism has been above and beyond. Would highly recommend!Posted on Google Timothy RohlmanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our lights were installed at least 10 years ago and worked fine except we had some trees removed and some were damaged. Those 3 were replaced and all the others (32) were serviced, cleaned and new bulbs. Excellent work thank you.Posted on Google Coco BloomfieldTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Prompt, excellent service! So nice to deal with. Yes — we routinely phase projects to fit budgets. Many Crestwood clients start with the front of the home, add pathway lighting in year two, and bistro patio lighting in year three. Each phase is designed so it stands alone but contributes to a larger overall design.
Lighting ranches well is a specific skill. We’ve designed for dozens of mid-century ranches across Crestwood, Sunset Hills, and Kirkwood — including original Fournier-designed homes in Sugar Creek Ranch.
We have a $650 minimum project value. Most Crestwood homeowners spend somewhere between $2,000 and $8,000 for a meaningful front-of-home design, depending on size and features. Phased projects can spread that out over multiple years.
