Bring your Eureka home to life after dark.
Eureka has one of the best origin stories in St. Louis County. The town was platted in 1858 along the route of the Pacific Railroad, and according to local history, railroad workers cleared the way for the track, looked at the level land with few rocks and little dirt to move, and cried out “Eureka!” — Greek for “I’ve found it!” The name stuck, and the village grew into one of the most distinctive small cities in western St. Louis County.Â
Today’s Eureka is about 11,000 residents, situated along Interstate 44 about 30 minutes west of downtown St. Louis. The city is widely known as the home of Six Flags St. Louis, one of the most prominent amusement parks in the region, and as the site of Camp Wyman (originally the St. Louis Children’s Industrial Farm, established 1898 — one of the oldest camps in the United States). In 1985, Eureka annexed the historic railroad town of Allenton along U.S. Route 66.Â
What makes Eureka a great landscape-lighting market is the housing variety and the natural setting. The city has a healthy mix of established homes (most in the $250K-$500K range), newer construction ($300K-$480K), and substantial lots in the rolling hill country west of the metro. Eureka’s western St. Louis County position gives it a slightly more rural-suburban feel than further-east cities — more wooded lots, more natural topography, and more opportunity for landscape lighting that integrates with the surrounding terrain.Â
Whether you’re in an established Eureka neighborhood, newer construction along I-44, near Six Flags, or in the rolling rural-suburban areas west of town, we’d love to walk your property and design something custom.
Here’s what we design and install across the area:
Hilly terrain makes pathway lighting both a safety necessity and a major aesthetic element on most Eureka properties.
Tall trees and wooded surroundings give Eureka homes natural backdrop opportunities that accent lighting can dramatically enhance.
elevated decks are common on these hillside properties, where integrated deck lighting transforms the usable evening footprint.
Eureka properties almost always involve elevation change — retaining walls, terraced yards, hillside driveways. This drives both opportunity (dramatic uplighting potential, tiered design possibilities) and complexity (longer wire runs, more transformer planning, careful drainage consideration during installation). Projects tend to be more design- intensive than equivalent flat-lot installations elsewhere in the metro.
Eureka sits in the rolling hills of western St. Louis County. Many properties have natural topography — slopes, wooded ravines, mature trees on established lots. Our designs work with that terrain rather than against it, using uplighting on flanking trees, moonlighting from high canopies, and pathway lighting that follows the natural lay of the land.
Many Eureka homes are recent construction along I-44 and in newer subdivisions. We're happy to coordinate with your builder to run wiring before final landscaping — producing a cleaner finished look and lower long-term maintenance.
Some Eureka homes go back to the city's 1858 founding, and many established neighborhoods have decades of mature landscaping. We design lighting that respects that character — warm color temperatures, period-appropriate fixtures where applicable, and placements that integrate with what's already there.
Many Eureka properties have more land and more privacy than equivalent inner-ring suburb homes. That gives us real design freedom — longer pathway runs, more dramatic uplighting effects, and the chance to use the natural landscape as part of the lighting composition rather than just a backdrop.
Why Eureka homeowners — established and newly arrived — choose us
Eureka's housing sits in the rolling hills of western St. Louis County. We design with the natural topography in mind — uplighting on flanking trees, moonlighting from high canopies, pathway runs that follow the natural lay of the land.
Many Eureka homes are recent construction. We run wiring and conduit before final landscaping is in place — producing a cleaner finished look, lower long-term maintenance, and integrated smart controls from day one.
Some Eureka homes go back to the city's 1858 founding. Others are brand-new construction. Our designs adapt — warm color temperatures and period-appropriate fixtures for older homes, contemporary fixture choices for newer construction.
Many Eureka properties have more land and more privacy than equivalent inner-ring homes. That lets us design more dramatically — longer pathway runs, more accent lighting, and the chance to use the natural landscape as part of the composition.
All our fixtures are weather-rated for full St. Louis winters and humid summers. The 1-year service package covers weather damage, and our maintenance plans catch any seasonal issues.

The work was fairly priced and the materials and workmanship were excellent. We actually rehired them again for even more lighting features.Posted on Google Bradley FisherTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I recently hired Landscape Lighting Guys to help with my home lighting system, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. I first met Matt while he was preparing a proposal for a large lighting project in our subdivision’s common areas. He took the time to meet with us multiple times, answer questions, and walk through the details of the project. During those meetings, I also had him take a look at my home’s landscape lighting system. Over the years, I had several different companies work on my lighting, and after some recent landscaping work, some wires were cut and pulled out, and fixtures were pulled out of their proper location. My system needed to be reset and repaired. Matt provided a beyond fair and detailed proposal, and his crew got right to work. What impressed me most was that they weren’t interested in taking shortcuts. Tyler and George explained that they could simply reconnect some of the old wiring, but they weren’t comfortable doing that because they couldn’t guarantee the long-term results. Instead, they took the time to trace the system, replace wiring where needed, and correct several issues left behind from previous installations. It was obvious they cared about doing the job correctly rather than just getting it done. The end result is actually better than what I had before. A few simple adjustments to fixture placement and aiming made a huge difference in how the house and landscaping are illuminated at night. The attention to detail was outstanding. Tyler and George were also incredibly professional and friendly throughout the entire process. They cleaned up after themselves, polished the fixtures, answered questions, and treated my property like it was their own. That level of service is hard to find these days. I’m also excited that Matt offers maintenance and service plans. One of the biggest challenges with landscape lighting is finding someone who understands your system and can maintain it properly over time. It’s reassuring to know I now have a trusted company that can keep everything looking great for years to come. If you’re looking for a company that values quality, professionalism, and long-term customer relationships, I highly recommend Matt, Tyler, George, and the entire team at Landscape Lighting Guys.Posted on Google Jeff BerzonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We met Matt many years ago when his business was young. His professionalism and dedications were matched by his crew. Years later we used his Company again, after we moved. We were just as impressed. Their suggestions, especially the Bistro Lights over the patio, were spot on. Another great job, And another round of compliments from our neighbors!Posted on Google Sue AckleyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I did quite a bit of talking with several lighting companies in the beginning. Some didn’t show up for an appointment, one didn’t call back when I asked to make some changes to the bid, so I looked for someone who was honest, had integrity, and listened to what I wanted, but had great ideas as well. The Lighten guys fit the bill perfectly. My house lighten was done in the winter, but I knew I would like to add to it as soon as my garden was in full bloom. Matt came out today and again I was so pleased with his ideas! It’s going to be perfect! Thanks bunches Matt! They performed high quality work that they stand behind. I highly recommend them!Posted on Google Julie BuckTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Matt and his team originally designed and installed our landscape lights in 2021. We were thrilled with his expertise on placement of the lights. The end result turned out great. We still get compliments on our lighting. My favorite part is the yearly check and fix of any issues. His team cleans, checks and repairs lights, wires or any other issue each year. Hassle free for us. Highly recommend this company.Posted on Google Ben LloydTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Huge shout out for the entire team at LLG. I can't recommend them enough. The estimating was simple and clear, pricing was fair and competitive.. and I was blown away with the finished product! Whenever my wife comes home with the kids after baseball practice, she always makes the comment how safe she feels and how lit up our house looks! LLG completely changed the dynamic of my home. THANK YOU!!Posted on Google David KannapelTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Matt and the team couldn't have been better to work with. They were able to get us quoted, installed, and supported very quickly and professionally. In addition to the hardware and lights looking great, the professionalism has been above and beyond. Would highly recommend!Posted on Google Timothy RohlmanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our lights were installed at least 10 years ago and worked fine except we had some trees removed and some were damaged. Those 3 were replaced and all the others (32) were serviced, cleaned and new bulbs. Excellent work thank you.Posted on Google Coco BloomfieldTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Prompt, excellent service! So nice to deal with. Yes. We can coordinate with builders to run wiring before final landscaping is in place. This produces a cleaner installation and saves money long-term.
Absolutely. Wooded, rolling-terrain lots are some of our favorite design challenges. Moonlighting from mature canopies, accent uplighting on natural features, pathway lighting that follows the topography — all techniques we use regularly on Eureka properties.
Most Eureka projects range from $2,500 to $8,000 for a meaningful front-of-home design. Larger wooded properties with full-landscape work can run higher.
