Matt Wooldridge — Founder
Matt’s path to landscape lighting is anything but typical. A trained EMT and Paramedic, he spent years caring for people on their worst days before turning his focus to building something with his hands. He grew a successful St. Louis landscaping company, then sold it in 2018 to do what he loved most — design and install outdoor lighting that genuinely transforms a home.
He started Landscape Lighting Guys because he kept seeing lighting treated as an afterthought — installed by landscapers as a side service, with cheap fixtures and no real design behind it. Matt believes St. Louis homeowners deserve better, and he leads every consultation personally.

The Founder's Story
From paramedic to lighting craftsman.
Before he ever installed a fixture, Matt Wooldridge spent years as a trained EMT and Paramedic — work that taught him to stay calm under pressure, listen carefully, and treat every person in front of him with respect. Those habits never left him.
In parallel, Matt built and grew a successful St. Louis landscaping company. He loved the craft, but kept noticing the same problem: outdoor lighting was being treated as an afterthought. Cheap fixtures. No real design. Crews bolting lights onto a project at the end of the day. The result was systems that looked uneven, failed early, and never did the home justice.
In 2018 he sold the landscaping business to do one thing exceptionally well. Landscape Lighting Guys was founded on a simple promise: lighting deserves a dedicated specialist. Today Matt personally walks every property, designs every system, and stands behind every install.

How much does a landscape lighting system cost?
Every project is custom, but most full-home systems in the St. Louis area range from a few thousand dollars for basic facade lighting to higher investments for whole-property designs. Quotes are always free and itemized.
Do you service systems you didn't install?
Yes. We service any brand of low-voltage landscape lighting system — bulb swaps, transformer issues, wiring repairs, and full LED upgrades. Service calls start at $215 plus $90/hr.
Are your lights LED?
Yes. We exclusively install premium brass and cast-aluminum LED fixtures — energy-efficient, dimmable, and built to outlast halogen by years.
How long does an install take?
Most residential installations are completed in 1–2 days, with no major disruption to your landscape.
Do you offer warranties?
We stand behind every install with industry-leading fixture warranties, plus a complimentary 1-year service package that covers tuning and bulb replacements.
What payment terms do you offer?
A simple 50/50 structure: 50% to schedule and reserve materials, 50% on completion.
Do you offer any discounts?
Yes — 5% off for active military, veterans, first responders and healthcare workers, and 10% off when 5+ neighbors in the same subdivision book together.
